How Good Home Air Quality Can Fight COVID
We Made December Our Indoor Air Quality Month
How can we help you? Contact Us Today
Due to these trying times of COVID cases spiking throughout the U.S., we have decided to recognize December as “Indoor Air Quality Month.” Today we’re bringing you along for the installation of some new air filtration systems.
All filters that you can buy are rated by their Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (“MERV” for short). The higher the MERV rating, the more efficient that filter is, and the better it is at removing smaller particles in the air. At 0:41 in the video above, you’ll see a MERV 11 filter, which removes between one and three microns of particles in the air. We’re talking about particles you can’t see with the naked eye, and a rating of 11 is pretty standard. If you need something stronger because of allergies or asthma, we recommend going up to a MERV 16 filter.
At 1:20 in the video above, you can see how the installation of the MERV filter works in one of our systems; it’s pretty easy to do. After that’s installed, we can add an air purifier to the system—in this case, the Reme HALO-LED. It purifies air, kills odors, and is 99.9% effective on viruses, including COVID-19.
“A MERV 11 filter removes between
one and three microns of particles in the air.”
This system will kill the COVID virus in the air and on surfaces. Since it’s inserted in the central AC, it purifies all the air throughout the entire home. During this uncertain era of COVID, we’ve all become sensitive to the quality of air we breathe. Especially now, we should be breathing in all the good air we can.
In addition to the Reme HALO-LED, Symbiont Service offers many other Indoor Air Quality products.
Keep an eye out for more upcoming videos that highlight Indoor Air Quality Month. Next time, we’ll go over a whole-home dehumidifier in conjunction with variable speed geothermal.
If you have questions for us about what we discussed today or anything else related to your air quality needs, don’t hesitate to reach out via phone or email. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
